Players are just trying to simplify gameplay as much as possible: background dim, invisible 300s, invisible sliderends, hidden interface, and now high AR. At some point we're gonna have a "genius" mapping style, where circles would just be stacked whole map, disregarding aim. osu is going downhill.
Someone just told me that a pattern in my map was "disgusting to play"
The pattern was 3 circles in a row, which according to him, is umconfortable to play and therefore disgusting

It's so sad that the osu! mapping community has gotten to this point.
A guy who is known for mapping a map purely for pp just came into my map and said one of the parts played like complete shit. I told him that it was fine and that I prefer that than adding back-and-forth jumps for the sake of pp.
He got pretty salty.
"really you're going to do that now? lmao ok, you're the most experienced mapper in this game and yet your maps aren't even on par with the other mappers out there, and you're talking shit about how i map because people think they're pp maps? that's really depressing. at least they play well, unlike the shit u map everyday."

If someone can't read AR9 he can just add HR and problem solved - higher score, more pp (assuming you're accurate enough) and you don't bother with AR9. So, again - why is being able to read AR9 something that everyone should know?
that's always the excuse. "b-but i can add hr or dt" yeah, and how does this make reading any less important? imagine yourself at owc then an AR9 nomod map is chosen, and you just drag your team down because you can't even read AR9.
he did intentionally take cookiezi's score on the map though so cookiezi just took his time freeze score. i don't see where the big deal is? why do people argue over dumb shit like this...

cookiezi is the best player ever, he can stream 800bpm 1/8 for 10 minutes and he can FC big money DTFL on his first try. also tom94 allegedly said he would have 729000 pp if he still played nowadays.
What's one genre that you wish more people would try to rank songs of in osu?
Chiptune certainly deserves much more love than it gets
complementing what I said in a stream yesterday, today's mapping is basically divided into a few styles:
- japanese girl screaming + occasional guitar at high BPM, 7 star map
- dubstep song with an anime-styled girl with some weird armor that reveals her breasts. the map is barely readable but everyone loves it for some reason
- BMS song that is basically a piano going 1/4 for the entire song, filled with spaced streams. 7 star map
- anime op filled with triangles, usually a ~4.5 star map with a retarded difficulty spike at the ending which causes the map to give tons of pp with DT
- occasional calm song, gets ignored by the community for being too boring/easy

the entire community knew about cookiezi being legit because Cookiezi's skill developed all the way through since 2009 and we all kept track of it. Meanwhile, these players like moneto, Shizuru, Reimu, Legendre etc. all came from nowhere, had 10k playcount and suddenly started making crazy scores, and that's why all of them got accused of cheating and then "cheated to ban". I didn't even call Hakurei Reimu a hacker, and you seriously need some interpretation classes. The problem is that while we all saw Cookie's skill growing through time, for these players, they just showed up and boom, went famous. I don't care if they stream or not, Tom94 also did streams while cheating so that's not so much proof.
